Our Roof Garden initiative is all about making our barren roofs colorful. Culturally, our rooftops have been barren for centuries, the culture to have a roof garden is non-existent. Urban Rooftop Gardening is a thing in all developed countries like Japan and USA, its about time we adopt it too, because we are hit hard with climate change & global warming.
Podakahani is going to change that. Pakistan needs solution to increasing temperatures and “Roof Garden Revolution” is one of the many initiatives Podakahni is taking.
We have already started on our 1st “Roof Garden Kahani” project and it is not only going to be roof garden but also a hub for family gathering. A thing that is slowly fading from our households.
Podakahani roof gardens are connecting generation in diverse ways. Our gardens have plants for everyone. From elderly to children, from housewives to young kids who are fond of nature. Our gardens will not only promote flowering plants but also fruit and vegetation as well. Some roof garden enthusiasts might as well allow us to plant grown up trees on their roofs as well. During the process, we will break the stereotype about a garden on rooftops and how it does not weaken your roofs. Rather, it helps lower your indoor temperature from 4-5 degrees.
