Podakahani is working on plantation across Pakistan, but our main focus is the rehabilitation and growth of urban forests. Pakistan is facing a severe environmental crisis, with over 36% of its population living in urban areas, often at the cost of green spaces. Ever-expanding cities are a menace to fertile lands, playing a crucial role in degrading soil, eliminating trees, and locking the earth beneath layers of concrete.
Podakahani For Pakistan
Podakahani is on a mission to plant as many trees as possible, with the highest survival rate. But first, we must understand the extent of the damage caused by unsupervised development. It is sad to admit that, in the race for industrial growth and urban concentration, a developing country like Pakistan has lost its focus on preserving green spaces, resulting in:
- Lahore lossing its 70% of tree cover in last 2 decades.
- Karachi’s tree to human ratio is disastrously low at less than 0.001 trees per person
- Pakistan ranks among the top 10 countries most vulnerable to climate change

It’s about time we take action and realize that there is no such thing as “enough” when it comes to planting. No matter how much we plant, we will always fall short of the forests, trees, and greenery our planet needs. Due to constant deforestation, there is always much more to do. We cannot sit back and wait for others to do our job, the responsibility to restore nature rests with all of us.
How Can You Help?
You can help Podakahani in so many ways, here are the things you can do:
- Donate us plants
- Provide us with land in-front of your shop, house, plot and we will do the plantation
- Take care of those plants
- Help us plant more trees by spreading the word in your circle
