A thousand years ago we lived in harmony with nature, but things changed. Humans betrayed that bond, stealing nature’s right to exist by colonizing open lands and replacing green with concrete. Today the earth mourns and humanity suffocates. This is a revenge our future generations will remember and perhaps agree it was well deserved.

The ever-increasing wave of construction and uncontrolled development is destroying our oxygen sources, rendering our lands infertile, and stripping away the beauty and quality of life.

Podakahani.org is taking up the task of bringing nature back to streets now covered with nothing but concrete, electric poles, tangled wires, and irregular footsteps. We are planting trees in even the most barren streets, always in collaboration with local residents. Real change can only come from within; no outsider can match the impact of those who live there. The residents themselves must take ownership and nurture the green that will transform their own surroundings.

The biggest concern in this campaign is the common misconception that all tree roots are harmful to building foundations. Through our street plantation drives, we are breaking this false belief by carefully selecting only those trees and plants with shallow root systems, species that do not damage walls or foundations, yet still bring shade, beauty, and cleaner air to our neighborhoods.

We are also avoiding sewerage and water supply lines to prevent any future issues that could lead to the uprooting of mature trees. This is a carefully planned campaign, designed with expert guidance to ensure that every tree we plant thrives safely for years to come.
