FAQs

What is podakahani.org?

Podakahani.org is an organization focused on creating greener Pakistan. Our key interest is creating awareness and planting trees to achieve following:
Providing pedestrians with shade on walkways (Smart solutions if roots create problems for underground pipes). We can opt for net structures covering sidewalks which are then covered with vines of different types (Flower or Green only). This will not only produce oxygen but serve the purpose of providing shade to pedestrians and also enhance beauty on the road.
Providing public parking spaces with a similar model.
Filling the gaps on roads with trees wherever possible.

Why do we need another NGO while we have many already working?

Considering the crisis situation we are facing, the more people we have working on the cause, the better it is. We need a national emergency focused on planting more and more trees.

How does podakahani.org plan to bring about the green revolution in Pakistan?

It is a long way we at podakahani.org understand very well. Our strategy is to mobilize people and let them lead this movement. No campaign has the potential of success if the masses do not have steak in it. Public engagement at multiple levels is going to be the key factor. We are confident this campaign will be a success.
We are expecting extensive private and government support to turn this initiative into an effective movement.
